Terms of Service
Last updated: August 29, 2026
These are the terms for MadeKeeper, a product of Wilderness LLC, a California limited liability company (“we”, “us”). You can write to us at 23 Corporate Plaza Dr. Ste 150-88A, Newport Beach, CA 92660-7908. We've kept them in plain English on purpose — the promises that matter most to makers are the ones people usually bury, so we put them first.
These Terms govern your use of MadeKeeper (the "Service"), at madekeeper.com. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the Service — no hard feelings.
1. The deal, in one paragraph
MadeKeeper is $19/mo for the whole back office, kept for as long as you stay. MadeKeeper AI, the one optional add-on, is $24/month or $240 a year. No card is required to start the trial — nothing charges until you choose to add a payment method and subscribe. Your rate does not move while you keep the subscription. That price lock is a promise we're making in writing, right here, and it survives future edits to these Terms for anyone who subscribed while it was offered.
2. Your account
You need to be at least 18 (or the age of majority where you live) and able to enter a contract. Give us accurate information, keep your password to yourself, and you're responsible for what happens under your login. One person, one account — a shared family craft table is fine; reselling access isn't.
3. Your data is yours
- You own the business records you put in — materials, recipes, products, sales, events, expenses, photos, all of it. We get only the limited permission needed to host and process them so the app works.
- You can export your records as CSV any time, from inside the app, whether you're staying or leaving. There is no export fee and no lock-in mechanism, and we won't build one.
- You can have your account and records deleted by emailing us (see our Privacy Policy for how, and for the little we may need to keep for legal or tax reasons).
4. The numbers are helpers, not guarantees
MadeKeeper does arithmetic on the records you give it — costs, margins, event profit, mileage, the year-end packet. It's only as right as what's entered, and it's a bookkeeping aid, not an oracle: decisions you make from the numbers are yours, and we're not liable for how they turn out. Nothing in the Service is legal, tax, or accounting advice; for those, talk to your preparer or a professional.
5. Records, not compliance
Some features help you keep the kinds of records that tax preparers, cottage-food rules, or market organizers ask about. They are paperwork helpers. We do not determine, certify, or guarantee that your business complies with any law, rule, or labeling requirement — that stays your call and your responsibility, as it always was.
6. Billing
New shops get Free to use, and no card is required to start the trial — you add a payment method only when you choose to subscribe. A subscription is $19/month, billed monthly in advance and renewing automatically until you cancel. Annual billing is $190/year. There is one optional add-on plan, MadeKeeper AI at $24/month or $240/year, which adds photo data entry (receipts, shelves and recipe cards read from a photo); everything on the $19 plan stays on the $19 plan. Payments are processed by Stripe; MadeKeeper never sees or stores your card number.
Without a subscription, your shop stays open free: costing pieces from your materials, the shelf you typed, and one fair with its profit — no product cap. The tax packet and Schedule C export, Etsy and Square sync, and additional fairs require the subscription. Nothing is deleted.
Cancel any time, from the billing panel inside the app — cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you are not charged again. Prices exclude any taxes, which are yours. Except where the law requires it payments are non-refundable, though if something has genuinely gone wrong, email and it will be handled like a person, not a policy.
The price. A subscription is $19/month or $190/year for the whole back office; MadeKeeper AI is $24/month or $240/year and is optional. Anyone subscribed keeps their rate for as long as they keep the subscription — MadeKeeper does not migrate an existing subscription to a higher price. If you cancel and later return, the rate available at that time is the one that applies.
7. Acceptable use
Don't misuse the Service: no unlawful or fraudulent use, no trying to get at other accounts' data, no probing or disrupting the systems, no scraping the app, no using it to violate someone else's rights. Records you enter about your customers are your responsibility — collect and use them lawfully.
8. Our stuff
The MadeKeeper software, name, and site content belong to us. These Terms let you use the Service as intended; they don't hand over our code or brand.
9. The Service will change
We're building in the open with the makers who use MadeKeeper, so features will be added, improved, and occasionally reworked. We won't remove your ability to reach or export your data. Third-party data the app fetches (like National Weather Service forecasts) is provided as-is from its source.
10. Disclaimers and the liability cap
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE'RE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR LOST PROFITS OR DATA; OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM WON'T EXCEED WHAT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM.
11. Ending things
You can stop using MadeKeeper and cancel whenever you like — export your records first; they're yours. We may suspend or close accounts that break these Terms or threaten the Service, and if we ever wind the Service down, we'll give you notice and a real window to export everything.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, and disputes belong in the state or federal courts located there, unless the law where you live says otherwise.
13. Changes to these Terms
If these Terms change, the date at the top changes, and we'll take reasonable steps to flag anything material. Continued use after a change means you accept it. The price lock in Section 1 doesn't get edited away for people who already hold it.
